This course focuses on methods and techniques for delivering health-related content to diverse populations. Cooperative learning, critical thinking, peer educator training, and decision-making will be applied to various health dimensions.

Tests & Scales
It is the intent of the Department of Health & Exercise Studies that all sections of a given course are graded consistently. This page describes the performance tests and the scales that are to be used with this course. Although your instructor may or may not choose to use every test described, he or she will use these procedures and grading scales for the tests students perform. Where appropriate, a video demonstration of the skills test has been provided.

Please note that in all HES classes you should only dive into the water under the supervision of your instructor. Also, you should dive only in the diving well and not in the lanes.
As you learn new skills it is easy to become frustrated. Becoming frustrated will make it more difficult acquire the skill. Therefore, first of all you should ensure that you understand how to perform the skill and then perform the skill by being “Slow & Relaxed with Good Technique” regardless of how uncomfortable you may feel.
