Outdoors for All Award
The Great Outdoor Provisions Co. (GOPC) founded the Outdoors for All Award in the spirit of addressing barriers to entry in the outdoors and providing meaningful outdoor education experiences to future outdoor leaders and environmental stewards.
About the Award
This partnership between the Department of Health and Exercise Studies (HES) and GOPC is to help address and find solutions to the adventure gap. The mission of the fund is to inspire and empower NC State students to imagine, explore, challenge and grow in their own responsible and conscientious pursuit of outdoor adventure and education. The mission is celebrated through Outdoors for All Awards.
The GOPC’s Outdoors for All Awards give students the opportunity to grow personally and professionally within the outdoors. Through HESO/HESM courses and other these supported events, the GOPC hopes to diversify who interacts with the outdoors and how they experience outdoor spaces. Outdoors for All Awards focus on providing financial support and expanding access within the outdoors for NC State students and communities from historically underrepresented populations.
Apply
Outdoors for All Awards can cover the cost of the HESO/HESM course fees up to $200 total. Only currently enrolled students taking Outdoor Leadership (HESO/HESM) courses who have paid their course charge are eligible for the award. Students’ applications will be reviewed and students will be notified if the award is approved.
